Mrs. Alexis (Alexis Lash)

Alexis loved dance from the very beginning when she began dancing at the age of three. Alexis had a passion and talent for dance and competed across the states at many competitions, while attending school. Although she couldn’t participate in school sports in elementary school, she was part of the unicycle club and still enjoys riding the unicycle in her adult life. In middle school she cheered for Corriher-Lipe middle school and won 1st place in the school talent show in 2010 where she performed her very own, self choreographed dance. She began teaching cheer, dance and gymnastics to other students and friends at the age of 14 just before entering High school. She was a SRHS high school honors student, part of the National Honors Society, cheered on both the Junior Varsity and Varsity high school cheer team, worked a part time job beginning at age 16 along with of course dancing since the age of 3 and competing with her local dance studio year round since middle school. Alexis is a “go getter” and always has her mind set to accomplish her goals.

Alexis was always very ambitious, but her biggest dream was to one day open up her own dance studio and to make a difference in the life of children and dancers.

Alexis’ dream came true when she opened Triple Threat Dance Studio in October of 2015. Since she opened her studio, she has won the 1st place award for “Best Dance/Gymnastics Company” in Rowan County by The Golds People’s Choice Awards for 5 years in a row (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020). She delights in teaching both her recreational students and her competition students.

Along with teaching a large portion of classes at TTDS, Alexis really enjoys teaching her students how to use dance as an outlet just as she did growing up. Alexis comes from a large divided family with 10 brothers and sisters all younger than her. This gave her experience with young children already at a young age. Although Alexis absolutely loves spending time with her family, she was also excited to go to dance classes. Alexis would say that dance was her escape. A place where she could go to do what she loved and forget about everything else going on in her life. She learned to put her emotions into her dancing, using dance as a healthy outlet. Dance could fix almost any bad day. Dance has always and will always be a big part of her life.

Today, Alexis is blessed to provide a safe place for students to dance and take classes. She proudly operates an anti-bullying studio in her hometown where she grew up in the Landis and China Grove area. She enjoys guiding her students to use dance as an outlet. She likes to help build confidence and self esteem in her students through the avenue of arts education at her studio. She encourages her students to do their best in school and she shows a sincere heart when students are facing difficult circumstances at school, home or in the community. She always makes it known to her students that she is there for them and that she is someone they can trust and count on to talk to. Alexis encourages all of her staff to be just as passionate and is   to have the bestand most friendly teachers at her studio. Alexis loves each student she has the pleasure of meeting. She loves both her returning students as well as new faces with her full heart. You will be welcomed with open arms the moment you walk in the door.  When you join her dance studio, you truly are joining a 2nd family.
